Playing the guitar has always been a dream. RL Guitars started out from a guitar set-up gone bad. After seeing what the technician did (and didn’t do), I thought I could do it myself. With the help of my wife and son with tuning lessons (they are the musicians in the family), my machinist background and many hours on the internet, I started set-ups on guitars. From there I learned how to custom build guitars.
There are many people who have helped me with my dream, even though the dream went in another direction. With the urging of my guitar teacher, Annie Johnson, and the mentorship of John Hildreth, building guitars have turned into more than a hobby. Recently I built guitars for Connor Christian and Jeff Sperko of Connor Christian and Southern Gothic, an up and coming country band from Atlanta, GA.
